Yesterday, I began working on getting more out of Google to help with SEO and the availability of the posts here at cyberroadmap.com.
The first step was to go to https://publishercenter.google.com/
Once there, I clicked on “Add Publication”.
At this point, I began entering the General site information.
Publication Name – got it.
Description – got it.
Category – got it.
Primary language – got it.
But then I got to this fifth field – “Website property URL” – “unverified”. This is a required field, and what it does is require you to prove ownership of your site. Once I typed in URL/DNS name the option “Verify in Search Console” appeared. I clicked it. https://search.google.com/search-console/welcome
I used the new “Domain” option. I followed the instructions with my DNS provider, and viola… about 10 minutes later I was verified. (Depending on your DNS provider and the TTL set for your domain – default is typically 3600 seconds/one hour – this process can take at least an hour.)
Once approved, I could begin to see the following. But ultimately, it meant that I was going to go back to waiting on something that would hopefully improve the presence of http://cyberroadmap.com
